Last December quite a few of the Devon and nearby members met up for a meal and drinks. Would you like to do it again this year.? The Drewe Arms at Drewsteignton can supply a room with bar and huge log fire with free floor space to crash on after. They can provide a special menu for us if enough people want it, or we could select from their standard christmas menu. A SELECTION OF RUSTIC CANAPES TO START SERVED ROUND A ROARING LOG FIRE. mini yorkshire puds with fillet roast beef and horseradish sauce, chunky goujons of lemon sole with tartare sauce, mini jacket pots with cheese and chive topping, smoked fish. Spit roast venison with roast pots and roast veg. (30 - 40 people) OR drewducken - multi bird roast with cranbreey and port sauce served with roast pots and veg. Lemon posset with lavender shortbread fingers selection of westcountry cheese and buscuits This is 28.95 per person If we had the turkey from the set menu it would be 22.50 per person. The set menu is 15.95 for 2 courses and 19.95 for 3 courses and can be found on their web site at www.thedrewearms.co.uk veggies can always be catered for (nut roast again !!! ) let me know your thoughts as the hall will have to be confirmed soon. |

Brilliant idea, the last do was great, count us in. Donna & John Best definitely would like to come. Depending on dates Nick & Dave Street are up for it as well. Pilz missed out on all the extras so far, for the grubby minded I mean weddings,parties etc. Doing his shifts are a real fun stopper. I just had a look at his rota and he is only free on the weekends of the 6th & 20th. He missed out on the last one due to working.Please please if at all possible I would hate him to get left out again.PS will not stop me though!! XX |

Sounds like a fab idea to me!! If Gromit isn't working then we will definately be there. (But he has to work every saturday night except the 20th so I vote for having it on a Friday) x |

Booking a room would most likely be the way to go for us, one like we had last time for the 6 of us would be great. Better and better all we need now is somewhere to dance. XX |

Chip as mentioned at Shroton brill idea. Katie and I are up for it . Venison sounds really good. All in kit should be a good night. Is there a 2 bed room available? |

sounds like a splendid idea. I should be back home from uni for christmas and the 20th of december sounds best for most people by the sound of things. So count on me as well, hope we can beat last years after dinner entertainment. |

I have got the long room booked for the 20th dec. i will fry to get some info sorted for you all at Corfe. I do know they will need a deposit for the special menue. |

The web address for the Drewe is in the first post, other BB rooms in the village are much the same price as Posh rooms at Drewe, but they do have their bunk rooms you can book if you dont want to share floor space! Of course this is open to all Hoptons not just the South West mob |

IF YOU WANT A ROOM AND NOT FLOOR SPACE CONTACT THE DREWE DIRECT. THEY HAVE THEIR BUNK ROOMS AND THE POSH ROOMS. IF FULL I CAN GIVE YOU OTHER VILLAGE ACCOM NUMBERS. |

It is unlikely we will have 30ish people for the venison roast, the main dish will be the Drewducken stuffed bird. for this a deposit of 10pounds a head is required, which can be sent to me and I will give to the Drewe as one payment. It is ok to order a meal from the normal menu. No deposit but still confirm to me you are coming please. send to the devon address in the newsletter. |

Come on folks Chip needs to know deffinate numbers for Xmas in Devon bash. It would be a great sham to miss out on a good evening. I'm only putting my oar in as I have recd a note on my mobile asking for confirmations or the do is off. Katie and I were looking forward to the 4 poster bed. |
