We're hoping to actually have some money by corfe... As long as we do, we'll be there Friday - but we'll be coming down after school, so we'll probably be quite late.

We did that wedding thing and was really sad cos we didn't do a honeymoon, just, so we could go to Corfe (honest)- I'll be bringing my erstwhile son, Joe with us as he didn't do a honeymoon either.

Gromit and myself are heading over by train after I finish work on Friday so we'll be getting into Corfe around 10pm. Our tent's on Concorde so if anyone gets bored on thurs/fri and fancies putting it up for us (so we don't have to do it in the dark) then there will be a couple of beers in it for you!! xx

Change of plan, it's going to be too much hassle trying to get all our gear down on the train/bus so we won't be coming. Hope everyone has a fun weekend though!!! x

Nichola and I would like to thank you all for making Corfe such a special event this year especially given our circumstances.
yppiP posted 9/22/08 10:29 AM
Just want to redouble that thanks. A great event this year made great by you lot and I suppose a little credit to the geezer what made the weather so very good over the weekend (especially as the normal weekend the week before was also good!. Everyone played a great part in keeping the regiment at the forefront of Corfes mind as well as giving us the opportunity to practise and show off ourselves in whatever guise we chose for the weekend.
Coming home the thing that I first noticed when I walked through door was a news letter laying on the side. It has the picture of Steve, Nursey and Dodge that featured on the Corfe advertising. It's great that the same people turn up and take these roles on. I'm sure some people actually think that Nursey is Lady Bankes!!!!!!!
Once again brilliant effort to everyone, especially the newly created Devon Quarter Master Mafia (DQMM)who got the truck, kit and living history stuff up and do so much work through the year.
To the next pint

redouble.........meant to say reaffirm, or add my thanks to, or even ciou. Saturday syndrome I'm afraid.
PSYCHO posted 9/22/08 4:49 PM
I would like to say thanks to the officers for abusing "poor Robert Sercombe the wrinkled family retainer" for maligning him as a spy or traiter and repudiating his authentic pass and documents signed and sealed by his Majesty. I loved it bring it on again. Steven, or Bishop Bray your knowledge under interogation is too much for a poor sole to bear. Seriously I enjoyed the weekend very much and I am sure we would all like to send our condolenses to Steven, Nichola and family at this time. This all made Steven's portrayal of Bishop Bray all the more commendable. Hope to see you all at the Devon Christmas bash or at Whitehall.

Sorry Stephen! I must still be in my cups.

Yes a lovely weekend. Everybody worked so hard and put a lot of effort in to make it one of my most memorable Corfe weekends. Thankyou one and all.
Even the C.O. (ipp if you didnt know) did a fairly good job.

Well I had a great time, enjoyed the weekend, first reenactment event I've done in a couple of years (apart from Canelli which doesn't really count) and I think I might be joining for next season. Thanks for your hospitality.

Just got out of re-hab after the alchohol marathon of the 'Wendy House'. Good Gad but we chug it away in there albeit elegantly in our posh frocks - and I mean Grunty on that too!!
Thanks for a cracking weekend one and all. Is there a pre-Whitehall shin dig this/next year, i mean 2009? I really need to dance the Lady B dress before she gets too scruffy. Hoptons are the best! Lots of love Nursey x
