Anyone here go to singles dances? if so, how are the crowds these days? I've not seen or heard of any here in the DSM area. Seems you got to go north to Algona/Storm Lake for a dance these days. Comments? Dave |

Up here in NE Iowa there are 2 to 3 Friday night dances a month at Electric Park in Waterloo that many refer to as Singles Dances or Singles/Couple Dances. They are certainly mixed. There are no true Singles Dances in Waterloo anymore and, as far as I know, none in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area either. For the life of me, I have never understood the term "Singles/Couples Dance". By definition, it is not a singles dance if you invite everyone. Just my opinion! |

What kind of music draws the biggest crowds at the Electric Park Ballroom? Any idea what kind of cover charge? I know the Riverside Casino draws a good crowd for 50's 60's Rock n Roll dance music. Some of the oldies are still out kicking up their heals. More power to them!!!!! I only hope I'm going that strong when I reach thier age. |
