I have James, Elizabeth & Anne McNamara all arriving in South Australia aboard the Scottish Lassie arr. 1878. They were sponsored by their Uncle Michael (Malcolm) Stundon who was farming up around Rhynie. In State Records they are described as his nieces & nephew and that they came from O'Callaghan Mills, County Clare, Ireland. Re Ireland their father is noted as Thomas McNamara. Unable to locate mothers maiden name. Once in Australia Elizabeth married Bernard Farrell 1883. She died c. 1886. No record of death or burial ever found, however, in 1886 Bernard was working at Beetaloo Reservoir, they had a child that died that year at 6 mths buried at Laura. We assume she died in childbirth and that death was never registered, but seems odd that the baby was. I cannot seem to locate what happened with Anne her younger sister b.c. 1864 that came out with her or her brother b.c. 1858.Would love to hear from anyone with information on this line.
