My so called good friend meets all the symptoms of npd and now I have to run like hell due to the constant hurt and wondering what I did...I am in my 50's and have never had a friend be so ugly.
Am I the only one who sees this behavior or does she behave like this with her spouse, children and other friends? One of her biggest grandiose symptoms are ideal love and marriage....perfect all the time! Do you think her husband sees this behavior, whom by the way she fears?
thanks

There's no telling what her husband does or doesn't know - if she's fearful of him, she may have developed NPD traits because she's being abused.
I had a friend who was middle-aged, single, never married, never pregnant, and never had to work a day in her life (lived off of her daddy's income, I found out many years later). She was the ultimate authority on everything from tax Law to parenting and nobody had experienced as much trauma as she had. Was she NPD? Possibly. Was she toxic? Most definitely. I washed my hands of her without looking back. You may wish to examine the benefits of maintaining your relationship with this person.
