My name is Ben and I am a postgraduate student in the school of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nottingham. I am writing to you as I carry out research in the area of human physiology and thought my latest study may be of interest to your members. I am currently recruiting volunteers for a study investigating the effects of prolonged carnitine/carbohydrate supplementation on exercise performance. Volunteers receive full VO2max testing, an inconvenience allowance, and 6 months supply of the commercially available carbohydrate sports drink, Vitargo, which has been shown to be a very effective sports supplement for endurance sport. I am looking for healthy, non smoking, non-vegetarian, males who train regularly, aged between 18 and 30. The experiment involves 9 visits to the lab over a 6 month period, including a medical screening and fitness assessments (Bicyle ergometry exercise). I am keen to use people who are in regular endurance training as they may find daily carbohydrate supplements over 6 months to be beneficial. I have attached a poster about the study and would appreciate it if you could circulate it to your members, or if I could post some information on the club forum. If any of them are interested in the study or would like further information, the poster contains my contact details. http://www.vclongeaton.com/study poster.pdf |

Might need to stretch the age range out to 18 - 80 to get any healthy males who train regularly in this club !. |
