Hi I left a message once before and got no reply. I had so incorrect information in it. My GrGrgrandmother Mary McNamara was born in Co. Clare her parents were Martin McNamra and Mary Kett. Mary married William O'Brien 1854 Geelong Victoria, then moved to Ballarat. I think Mary might have been an orphan of the famine (not sure). Thank you for any info |

Hi Tessa, thanks for posting a message. Do you happen to know where Mary Mc came from in Clare, who her siblings were, or anything more about her father Martin? |

I do not know where in County Clare Mary McNamara came from. On Mary's marriage certifiacate it gives her father as Martin McNamara and her mother as Mary Kett. On death certificate it gives her father as John McNamara and mother Mary Kett. I not sure I think she might have been a potatoe famine orphan and was sent to Geelong Victoria to a Peter McNamara |

I'll keep my eye out Teresa. I've seen the name Mary Kett someplace else so I'll let you know if I find anything of interest. I might look into this famine orphans thing too as I haven't really thought of delving into that area before. |
