Hello, I am looking for any information on ancestors and/or descendants of John McNamara married abt 1863 to Honora O'Connor.<BR>They had 11 children - am most intersted in Patrick John b. abt 1867 m. abt 1900 Ellen Kate Downes.<BR>Any information would be greatly apprectiated. |

Hi Josh, My grandfather (living) McNamara is one of the 17 children to Patrick McNamara & Ellen Down. In my research of Patrick I have been unable to locate his birth certificate (apparently born Ballarat abt 1867). According to my grandfather Patrick's parent were John McNamara & Hanora Connor, to his knowledge he only had one sister (Mary), but I have a copy of Hanora's death certificate and there is a third child (Thomas) mentioned who must have died an infant. During my research I have come across a John McNamara & Hanora O'Connor from Ararat who had many children. I have a copy of a "John Patrick McNamara's" birth certificate dated 4 January 1875. From the research I have done so far I can find no relation to Patrick McNamara & Ellen Down and have found it to be coincidental that there are similar names and dates. I would be really interested to hear from you and exchange information on the McNamara's. Cheers Michelle |
