I am looking for a Great Aunt Catherine McNamara who married a Mr Logan in the late 1800's or early 1900's. She was born at sea on the voyage to Australia in 1853 and raised in Macclesfield South Australia. It is believed she met her husband when his family ran the Macclesfield hotel and went with them to live in W.A.Any help on this would be much appreciated. Jo Wellins 9 Jan 2005 |

Hi Jo , I've noticed out of interest that Catherine/Kate's brother Thomas ran the Macclesfield Hotel in 1879, before he moved onto the Wellington Hotel and then the Australasian Hotel. I'll see what else I have on Kate amongst my notes. Regards, Janelle http://www.angelfire.com/oz/mcnamara/ [This message has been edited on 01/11/2005] |

Dear Janelle, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. My Kate McNamara's brother was indeed Thomas who owned those Hotels. Kate's father John actually died in the Australasian at Victor Harbour. Did you have anything else on her? |
