I understand that James Mcnamara came to the swan colony of western australia, and married Sofia King, daughter of Harriet and david King, the first white girl baby born and baptised in the swan colony of western australia. i am told that James McNamara, had come from county clare in ireland. My Grandfather peter O'Grady McNamara was teh son of Eliza Fraser and Lewis or Louis McNamara whom are bried at Moora Cemetary. Lewis mcnamara was the son of Sofia King. Her parents departed from england as free person settlers to the swan colony of western australia. Wen Sofia King married james McNamara, it was told me by my grandad Peter McNamara that James McNamara died young and sofia king then married some bloke named a stanton, whom was some sort of police officer in the colony.I am interested in finding out , whom James McNamara was, and what he did in County Clare before he emigrated to the swan colony of western australia.Can anyone be of some help to me, I needed to find out whom James McNamara, who is his parents and his line ageapparently tere were 200 mcnamara families, and after cromwell only 6 remained. Is this true>. I am also wondering, My Grandather Peter Ogrady McNamara told me his grandmother told him that James McNamara is a direct descendant from the McNamaras whom owned and built Bunratty Castle and told him the Obriens thre tem out of the castle on cromwells orders. I just have no idea if the oral history passed down to me is correct.Please can someone help????
