Hello, I am a jazz pianist and I have a big trouble with my looser finger ligaments. When I play piano, my first finger joints (count from fingertips) are easily bended and I have to pay much attention to curve my eight fingers and avoid being bended. It makes me can't perform well and enjoy the music. A doctor told me that I have ''Hypermobility Syndrome''. Because of gene, some people's ligaments are not tense naturally. And he told me that ligament couldn't be tenser by training. I found a company that have made''silver ring splints'' for pianists who have hyperextension of the DIP joints. Have you guys ever heard of this kind of situation? Do the splints work? I live in Taiwan now (I am a Taiwanese) and I am going to study performance at Long Island University in NY this September. But I am still wondering if I should major in performance. Please help me. David
