Lets start out by saying I just got a used 2004 CBR 600rr Blue with 7 miles on it from a dealer for $8500. That was on a friday about two weeks ago. Come monday I went riding with a bunch of guys on the freeway (13 of us). I was in the front middle of the pack and we just got on the freeway. Next thing you know bikes were flying everywhere. It all started with someone who was towing a truck lost a piece of lumber from the his trailer. One guy hit it, flattened both his tires and smashed his rims in, he managed to stay up (Gixxer 750). The next guy who hit it wasn't so lucky. As soon as he hit it his bike flipped a good 20 feet into the air, smashed into the ground, slid under a truck and folded it in half (Gixxer 600). The next guy who hit it flipped and tumbled down the road totalling his bike (900rr). Next was a guy on an '04 F4i, he either tipped his bike or bailed to get out of the way of hitting someone. Well that's when I came in. He just happened to bail right in front of me, my tire caught his chest, and flipped me over onto the freeway. I blacked out when I hit, but I can remember the sliding. They said that as I was sliding I went a good 70 feet and cut off a semi, only to stop on the shoulder of the road. The driver of the truck who lost part of his load also jackknifed and flipped off the road. Injures: First guy: Broken shoulder and arm. Second guy: Road rash to the legs. Third guy: Fractured spine, messed up hip, broken leg and arm. Me: Two fractures and a burn from my jacket on my right arm. The police said it was amazing that no one was seriously injured. They said it looked like a war scene. The other riders said that it looked like a bomb went off in the front of the pack and stuff went flying everywhere.
