I am a Soldier who grew up in Portage County, and I am not here to slam you, or your organization. I am just trying to understand why allot of war Protesters target military personnel, Instead of the public officials which give us orders. We as soldiers just do what we swore to uphold, I do solomely swear to support a defend the constitution of the united states against ALL enemys, there is also another phrase That I swear I repeat I swear to Follow the Orders of the Officers appointed over me and the President Of the United states. Again I am happy we live in a country where you have the right to conduct your business I am just praying that next time you want to target someone make sure they deserve it (the Soldier, Airman, Marines, seaman) are here for your rights its the public officials who need your attention. Well, I guess my reply to why peace activist may target soldiers would be different from most peace activists.My husband was in the Army and was in the first Gulf War.Because he became a Conscientious Objector and lost all of his friends due to his decision, I have issues with people in service. My issue is solely that you know very well that the government and the military does not care about you. I have been where you are. I knew that then, and now and you do too. That's why I would target a soldier specifically. You need to understand that what you are doing is not right and so although I would never hurt you, I would tell you the truth. That's how I would target you, with truth. I would confront you with reality because you need to know that we are aware you know this war is wrong, and now we are holding you accountable for your actions, which we should. I'm not saying any of this in anger but because I truely believe it's my job as a human to give you the truth. I do care about your life, unlike the military or the government. I do want you to do honorable things with your life, but this is not one of those honorable things.I would never condone violence on you or anyone in the service, but I would encourage everyone who knows the truth, that this war is based on lies, to offer you the truth. I would also encourage you to embrace that truth and research it on your own. No one should ever be someone else's cannon fodder. That to me is the highest form of disrespect anyone can make another human endure.I pray better for you.Yvette |
