Was at the Dublin installation this morning. It was brilliant fun. The group of people were wonderful, The crowd really kept each others spirits up. It was very cold, for the first pic set up, we were naked for about 40 minutes or so. On the pier near the lighthouse, We kept our selves entertained while waiting for the pic to be taken, By waving and mooning the Passenger ferries that passed within 100 yards of us. We did mexican waves. And the fun and laughter was wonderful. At last we did the set positions and were sent to dress and have a 20min break for the second set. But the weather closed in and the wind and rain came on. They cancelled the second pic. We did a third, in the rain, we all got into the sea(up to out ankles.) We sang, waved, jumped about, Did the traditional "Ole ole ole". Eventually The pic was ready and we all had to stand facing camera with heads bowed, then same thing with our backs to the camera. There was alot of swearing as it took alot of time to take the pics. But we sang, cheered and said cheese for the camera. It was a wonderful day. It was the crowd who attended that made it such a wonderful experience. There is also an additional Installation on Sunday. Have to try to move my shifts and see if I can get to that. Even though the weather for tomorrow is the same as today. |

I think the additional installation is for "pairs only", maybe he'll get them hugging or kissing or something? |

Sam: You got it right. It was great fun especially the set-up on the beach. Nay, it was exhillirating. Was 50-50 going up the pier until last second decided "What the hell, just f****** do it!". And yea it was worth it - every second. It was catharcic - the running, jumping, splashing, singing, the rain, the cold, cheering for Spencer. Yes, yes, yes. Glad I decided not to be one of the 1500 who left after No 1. But, please, dont tell the wife I was there!!!! |
