I've just had another quick peek at The Egg website (click the FUTURE button on the main page of this site) and they now have more photos up of builders. There is also some interesting photos of the inside of the building... although they are pretty much the same as the last lot. . Click the link below to see a photo of the fire exit from screen one. This is my favourite of the lot because you can still recognise the doors! haha... so it looks quite odd indeed. http://www.theatreroyal.org.uk/theegg/dec10.html |

Errr.... that would have been the whole cinema sat within those four walls! Now it's just a stone box to plonk juvenile artisans into. |

Hey there all you 'Egg' fans (well, maybe not fans), there is now a January update on the Theatre's site. More pics of the inside of the building. You can now see the beginnings of the 'Egg' itself. http://www.theatreroyal.org.uk/theegg/hardhatjanuary.html January 2005 Robins Cinema conversion pics |

Bloody Egg! It's taking away customers from my bar down the road and now no one can see us! when the outside chairs were out they covered them in dust and now they park lorries in front of our window. I spend hours watching 3 builders sit, sleep and eat in one little van. also they refuse to put up a sign advertising us so ppl know we're there. damn them all!!! |

I've just looked at the egg. It's not good. There is far to much red steel. I make me sad to look back and think of all the time spent in there. Ah well maybe they'll have a ghost that wonders round doing the ba ba ba baa's to the pearl and dean addvert. Ah well. |

What a great big egg they have! I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those stupid great girders are left visible when the place is finished, as some kind of trendy, avant garde look. I'm still having terrible trouble imagining what will go on in that place. Supremely toffee nosed children (or 'cream teas' haha) prancing about and assuming that being pompous is the same as acting grown up. |
