Greetings, all! This weekend is an exciting one for Improv Shmimprov, as we welcome back a member who has been lost to us for a very long time. Mr. Jacob Russell-Snyder, one of the founders of Improv Shmimprov, moved to New York several years ago after having playing only the first seven shows with us at the Maverick at the Block. Now, exactly one hundred and fifty shows later, Jacob has moved back to Fullerton and will rejoin Shmimprov as one of our regular performers. Whether or not Jacob left all his funny in New York remains to be seen. However, it has been 150 shows since we’ve had a Mad Scientist with an offensively Asian accent, so we’re delighted to have him back. Come see him at either show this weekend! Here’s the lineup! FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th HOST : Jamie Scheel PLAYERS : Jacob, Patrick, Miles, Brian, and Amber SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th HOST : Jamie Scheel PLAYERS : Jacob, Greg, Ryan, and Erik ALSO – this weekend is the opening performance weekend of “THE THREE MUSKETEERS” which debuts the Maverick Theater’s other stage, the one behind the big giant black curtain. “Musketeers” will run for six weeks on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 and Sundays at 4:00. The show stars three of your Shmimprovers, which are myself as d’Artagnan, Nick McGee as Porthos (one of the Three Musketeers) and Jax diBenedetto as Constance, d’Artagnan’s infinitely-abductable love insterest. A lot ot work and love have been poured into this production, and I truly think you will be surprised by it. The productions covers far more ground than the story you may be familiar with, and our show features some of the most ambitious sword play you will ever find on stage. But then I’m biased.
