It’s EXCITEMENT TIME! It is, check on your watch. Whatever time it is, THAT’S when Excitement Time is! Why? Because lots of “Excitement” is happening at the Maverick this weekend and this is the “Time” when you will learn about it. I use “Time” in quotes because Father Time has strict copywright holdings. FIRST OF ALL, IMPROV SHMIMPROV gets to step back up in the world. As of this weekend, we are BACK ON TRACK and FULL FORCE, along with other capitalized idioms implying that we are FULL THROTTLE. Once again, the show will be starting at 10:30 pm! 10:30! 10:30! Did you get that? No more of this waiting around outside forever because of some silly but brilliant (cough) “Musketeer” show. No more of this 10:45ish or 11:00ish or even 11:05 start time! That’s right! We start on time! ON TIME! EVERY TIME! 10:30! Better than that? We do so IN THE BAR! 10:30 IN THE BAR! 10:30 IN THE BAR! That’s right Shmimprov returns to the Cabaret stage which means A) you can drink alcohol and enjoy the show and B) there won’t be people drinking alcohol on the other side of the curtain making disruptions. Can I get a BOO-YA! (boo-ya) THANK YOU! What’s in the bar? I’ll TELL YOU what’s in the bar! A PIANO! That means that this FRIDAY we’ll be having our special MUSICAL show, part of our Shmoctoberfest Lineup! And then Saturday night we feature an exciting discount blast from the past : The Admission Dice! Pay what you roll! But that’s not it! The Three Musketeers is over, replaced by a far shorter and funnier show, starring three of your Shmimprovers! The return of “THE COMPELTE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED)” stars Nate, Nick, and Erik, and is even directed by a fourth Shmim, Jacob! We blaze through all 37 of Shakespeare’s works in under two hours. Every time we put the show up, something is different so we invite you to come back if you’ve seen it before or come for the first time if you haven’t. Get your tickets at www.mavericktheater.com.
