Obi-Wan battled Anakin. The Karate Kid battled Mr. Miyagi (well, that would’ve been cool). The cast of Cheers battled the cast of Frasier. Blood was everywhere. Shrapnel of Emmies would be found imbedded in Woody Harrelson’s bottom for years. This Saturday we submit ourselves to the list of epic clashes. IMPROV SHMIMPROV will battle LIVE NUDE PEOPLE (with clothes on). A brief history lesson : In 1998, Live Nude People (hereafter referred as LNP) was began at UC, Irvine. After four years, the members who helped found it graduated and began Improv Shmimprov out in the “real world.” Now, three years later, there are no more members of Live Nude People whom the members of Improv Shmimprov really know because too much time has passed. It has come time to battle. Time for master and student to fight. But who is the master? Who is the student? Live Nudes has been around longer, yes, but Shmimprov has had far more performances. There would be no Shmimprov without LNP, but there would have been no LNP without the members of Shmimprov. Like Yin and Yang there can be no answer. But there can be one victor. So this Saturday the current cast of LNP will come up from UCI for some fighting at the Maverick. This show is not to be missed. But that doesn’t mean you should wait until Saturday to check out the action. We’ve got a great show lined up for you Friday as well, so refresh yourself from the Thanksgiving holiday with a whole weekend of comedy! Swing on out Friday night to get a taste of pure Shmimprov so you know what’s in store when you come back Saturday for the big brawl. There’s only six shows left this season, it’s going to be over before you realize it! Here’s the lineup!
