Does anybody know if The Skids are back yet? |

Back from where? And don't say from wherever they've gone. |

From wherever ... oh no, hold on a minute, I'm not meant to say that. It's just that I remember reading on a wall that they were back, but I haven't seen them. And this was while I waited for a 582 some time ago .... |

Okay, if you read on a wall that they're back, then they must be back. I can't think of anything more reliable than a wall for up-to-date news. |

Naughty, naughty! Which wall did you read it on, Beddie? |

It was a long time ago, its is shrouded in obscurity. Brief snatches of memory come back to me, like a half-forgotten melody ... There's a bus stop, that much I have already said. But, but ... wait, there *is* more ... there's a pub ... no *two pubs*. There's a newsagent, with a woman lying breathless in front of it, having been knocked down by a stack of newspapers. Railings ... the 582 ... a shelter that you can behind for a wee ... no, it's fading again. |

The Punch Bowl! Mmm, I don't think that wall's there anymore. Too many people must have been using it to announce news items. They built some houses behind it a while ago. I wonder if that newsagent is still there. Cripes, I haven't been past there for yonks and yonks. |

That's it! That's it! The Punch Bowl! And the second pub was the Let Us In, I think. And ... and ... there was the LUT office! Newsagent ... hmmm .... Snape! Yes, that was the name! Long before Barry Potter, of course. They sold homemade lollies. |

By the bye, The Skids *were* back but they've gone again now. They did a final concert up in Scotland in July this year. I don't know how many of the original line-up were involved. Richard Jobson definitely was. Stuart Adamson definitely wasn't. (He hanged himself in Hawaii a few years ago.) The Skids were terrible though. The Damned weren't too bad and they're playing a gig at the Albert Halls in Bolton next week. Crikey! |

Is Rob Morris going? It must be ace having "The Ramones" written on your arm in your 40s. |

I heard that Scol went though. Strange, he was always a mod in the olden days. Did anyone tell Bucky that The Damned were going on toar? Didn't Rob have Deb tatooed on his arm too? He's had two more wives since her. |

I think they were both called Deb though. |

It would have been handy if those two wives were both members of The Ramones. |

I presume you mean handy for Rob Morris rather than handy for the Ramones. |

Yes, that's it exactly. Handiness for The Ramones = 0. Handiness for Rob Morris => 2. |

Nobody would be in a position to say though, would they, given that, ex hypothesi, they would not recognise themselves as falling under that description? |

That's exactly what I thought too. |
