I found an injured toad. Pretty sure he's an american toad. Seems to be doing a lot better, but I'm not sure what to feed him. So far, there's just crickets in his tank. Are grubs safe for toads? Earwigs? I realize some insects are toxic to them. |

I've been known to feed a garden slug to a toad large enough to eat one, but I've never given a garden grub to my toads. However, in the pet trade, Phoenix worms and wax worms are fed to toads all the time and those are both grubs. The only BIG caution I have about feeding grubs to toads is to be sure the grubs come from a garden that has not been chemically treated. What the insect eats or is exposed to can hurt the toad. http://www.toadilytoads.com |
