Hi, I recently adopted two juvenile toads from my yard (each about 1 1/4 inch from rear to snout). I have been able to identify them as both Fowler's toads, but I'm having a tough time determining their sex.I've been looking at the "sex of a toad" page on ToadilyToads, and do not see any nuptual pads on either of my toads' front flippers. (4 fingers but nothing that looks like a pad). So I'm thinking that they are both female, but I was wondering if the nuptual pads are already there when they are juveniles or do they develop upon maturity?I have also not heard either of them sing, although "Toad-Y" has puffed out its chin like a balloon once. The only other major difference is that Toad-Y has a slightly broader head than Toad-X.I can send/post pictures if that helps. One last quick question: if a female becomes egg laden and has no male to fertilize them, will the female still deposit the unfertilized eggs like chickens do?Thanks for any answers
