My wife and I are planning our next trip to Germany and the focus on the trip will be to visit the Kasernes where my dad was posted. His first assignment was with HQ Trp 3rd Constab Brg at the Reiter Kaserne in Bad Cannstatt in 1946. The Reiter Kaserne is only 20 minutes from the Kurmacher Kaserne (now known as Patch Barracks) where the Constabulary Stuttgart Memorial Monument is located. Can anyone tell me where at Patch Barracks the Memorial Stone is located, ie at the flag pole grounds on New York Strasse, and can the general public access Patch Barracks, or are there restrictions. We also plan to visit the Constabulary Monument at the entrance to the rifle range at Neustadt bei Coburg. It's going to be a busy trip as my dad was posted at the Reiter Kaserne in Stuttgart (Bad Cannstatt), recreated in Garmische, sent to Signal School at the Gneisenau Kaserne (now Barton Barracks) in Ansbach, transferred to Ludendorff Kaserne in Fulda, and finally, assigned to the 22nd Constab Sqd in Hersfeld.Lots of planning to do, but it should be a fun and exciting trip! :^)
