Chukma to All You Friends of the Chickasaws:... Well I just returned from the Chickasaw Listening Conference in Oklahoma City and it was Fantastic - it even beat the first Listening Conference... So, I want to invite you to come to the next scheduled meeting of the CCCCTX which will be at the Mexican American Cultural Center on March 9th at 1:30 pm... Those of us who went to the Listening Conference found out a lot we did not know and we will be sharing what we learned and showing everyone what we were able to make at the Moccasin Making Class that will be this weekend... Those who missed the last meeting, missed seeing the outstanding craft work that the Holland family showed us. Our Lord has certainly blessed them with great skills and talent and we all enjoyed it so much... This will be one of those light finger-food/snack type of meetings. So come, enjoy something light to eat and the fellowship of our Chickasaw family and learn what we found out at the Listening Conference... We are also be looking at what type of classes our members want to see offered this year... We have already had some interest in Drum Making, Feather Fan Making, Language Classes and Flute Playing... We always enjoy having our friends attend our meetings - you add a lot...Our Meetings are currently held once a quarter in a joint meeting with the South Texas Council at the LBJ Student Center of Texas State University, 601 University Drive San Marcos, TX and our local meetings are held at the Mexican American Cultural Center, 600 River Street Austin, TX 78701, which is just couple of blocks west of I35 on River Street where River Street ends... This month's meeting will be here at the MACC and our April meeting will be in San Marcos... Thanks a lot for helping us make ourselves known in the Local Area...
