SEXUAL REPENTANCE Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 CONFESSION Many of us grew up mistakenly embracing sex as a rite of passage into manhood. We have treated women as objects for our own sexual gratification. Marriage for some of us meant putting our creative talents in overdrive to come up with excuses to cover the time we spent having sex with other women. A few of us have even used children to live out our sick sexual fantasies. We now know that sex cannot fill the void in our lives. Jesus Christ is the only one who can give us all we need to be fulfilled. Many of us grew up believing the fairytale of a knight in shining armor carrying us off into the sunset and living happily ever after. We allowed men to treat us as sexual objects. We did everything we could think of to get men’s attention including dressing seductively and participating in degrading sexual activities. Some of us kept silent about our husbands’ sexual affairs. A few of us turned a blind eye to our mates having sex with our own children because of needing support and our fear of being alone. A number of us have had sex with married men including the clergy of our churches. We now know that men cannot fill the void in our lives. Jesus Christ is the only one who can give us all we need to be fulfilled. Many of us grew up believing that our sexual orientation defined everything about us. We could not see past our homosexuality. Some of us spent our days going from one sexual encounter to another in our quest to find fulfillment. A number of us lived our lives “On The Down Low”. We now know that our sexual exploits are not enough to fill the void in our lives. Jesus Christ is the only one who can give us all we need to be fulfilled. Many of us grew up with a sexual attraction to our gender while others became lesbians because of sexual molestation. A few of us have embraced females because of male rejection. Some of us kept getting into relationship after relationship hoping we would find a woman we could live with happily ever after. We now know that no relationship can fill the void in our lives. Jesus Christ is the only one who can give us all we need to be fulfilled. REPENTANCE We come to you Lord Jesus on our knees in repentance asking for your forgiveness. We surrender control of our bodies to you Jesus believing that we will be set free to enjoy a life that is filled with peace, joy, and happiness. |

Sex is a drive which continues on into the next life. Even dead bodies have been seen to have an erection!!! Sex might be considered more a drive than a do or don't do issue. The Lord is The Lord and Jesus is Jesus. When you think that you are having a sex drive, stop and think...is this really a sex drive...for you must respect the opposite sex!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.freewebs.com/raacoz The Natural Law |

Dear Raa, You rightfully emphasized the importance of respecting the opposite sex. I believe that if we gain respect for ourselves, respect for others will follow. My purpose for writing this was to bring to the forefront the ravages that have occurred because of our sexual behavior. As a Christian, I believe that Jesus is the answer for people who are in sexual bondage. I know that all religious communities as well as secular communities have their solutions. I hope and pray that black people will wake up and see the sexual damage we have done to each other. In the U.S., HIV/AIDS is the #1 killer of African-Americans. Thank you very much for your post. |
