Dear All, The Brasov Orphanage Fund is in the process of winding down. We have calculated our remaining funds held by the Maltese Cross Fund (reg. SCO11238) and donated these to the Foundation for the Protection of Children in Brasov. This is one of the charities listed on our website - they run a home for abandoned children in the village of Cristian nearby to Brasov. It has been a productive couple of years and between us we have raised about 25,000 pounds for orphanages and children's charities in Brasov County. Our report from 2006 is still available for those who lost touch with the charity and want a copy of our latest report. A new report will be produced in the coming months which will present the final information about the charity's donations. These included a donation of 5,000 pounds to the Brasov Children's Hospital project, which has been our main project in the latter half of 2006 and in 2007. We want to stress that the work of the Brasov Orphanage Fund will continue in other forms. Bekah, Amy, Esther and myself are all committed to continuing charity work in Romania, it is a case of re-identifying the neediest and most worthy causes to which our fundraising can make a difference. We will be in touch with everyone related to the charity within the next few weeks, and we will be encouraging people to continue their support to worthy causes in Brasov County, and to become involved with other organisations such as Community Aid Network (www.canbv.ro). We can continue to process single donations on an individual basis and our contact information remains the same for this, and other requests. More soon! Dominic McCann
