the right place to post this. My head is spinning with questions. I work for a company that sells and manufactors mobile homes. Last year a yound boy(4 yrs old) whoes parents owned one of our homes, was diagnosed with Diffuse Pontine Glioma. We were shocked and saddened. Then this week I have heard of another child who has lived the same type of home since birth ( child is 6)also diagnosed with Pontine Glioma. Coincidence? Maybe but my heart and head is wondering if there may be another connection. The formyldahyde level in these homes requires a posted warning to all who purchase. I have been doing a little research and have learned that a young infants brain does not have the barriers devekoped to protect its self from chemicals. I am not sure where to post this, seek more information. OMG, is there is a link...Please excuse any typos, it is close to 2am and I can not sleep thinking about this. |

I am not sure there is a connection but glad you are thinking on those type of line. That is one thing I have looked for, a link. We never lived in a trailor home and i called 3 other parents before answering your post. Don't worry about the typos I have them no matter what time of day it is. Excellent topic tho, what is if any the connection between our kids? |

It does my heart good to hear people looking at angles or connections into this "thing". Like Mike, I have (and continue) to look for links. I read the other children's stories, where their from, etc. I don't know. Different types of people, from different environments, from different parts of the country (world). Are they twins, triplets, premies (JJ was)? Just don't know. Now that doesn't mean that there isn't and will continue to explore. I remember when JJ was diagnosed, one of the first things the doctor asked was if he had a birth mark. We said yes and he immediately asked to see it. We did inquire why, and if memory serves (been a year+), he thought there might be a relation and were checking the yes/no block.God Bless you for looking into and thinking about it. http://www.jjsmiracle.com |

We have questioned the doctors endlessly about how Matthew may have gotten this tumor. We inquired about the food we gave him, whether a Cat Scan he had done when he was very young may have played a role. The answer keeps coming back the same...NO. My wifes is driving herself crazy blaming herself, that is wrong. There is no one to blame, the doctors don't know what causes this tumor. When I was 14, I had a 1st cousin that passed away from this same type of tumor. The doctors said that it isn't genetic and that both of our family just had "bad luck". I can't wait for the day that no child or their family had to endure this journey. What is fair about a child getting cancer and worse yet, no one knows why. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/matthewmcgowan |

Thank you for the information,as I have been struggling with why my son was diagnosed with the same. It may or may not be associated, but I will check into the environment we continue to live in as soon as possible. We found out recently that the seller and inspectors were "very good friends". We've found a number of things that weren't "up-to-code". I cannot put into words how much I appreciate your input. |

Your words of concern touched me dearly. This week, we lost our little angel, of DPG. They went the chemo and radiation road. I have been reading out the Burzynski Clinic which has an optional manner of treatment. I will send you the link, and please pass it along to all that you feel should know this info. God Bless you for bringing a serious issue forward, that I am SURE many, many people have never heard. Kathleen http://www.burzynskiclinic.com/ Alternative treatments |

We lost JJ on the 31st of January and he had not so much as set foot in a mobile home. I find it encouraging that there are people trying to connect dots on this. Any and all ideas/thoughts should be looked at. You never know when they may come together. http://www.jjsmiracle.com |
