I have an idea on how to spread the word about DPG. I have read so many heart-warming entries that also contain facts on DPG from parents in their journals. If there could be a short letter (short to make sure people would read it) with facts on DPG that would also touch people’s hearts…maybe you moms & dads could network on this to come up with the letter. Then this letter is put in each journal asking all who read the journal to take this letter & send it to all the people in their email address books, and forward it on, asking them to email it to Oprah & various talk shows, send it to their local TV station, newspaper, etc. Also, I read in one of the journals about joining together to make one foundation instead of individual ones. Sounds like a good idea, especially if the name stated that it was for DPG research...such as "Save our Children, DPG Brain Tumor Research Foundation" or something shorter, but saying the same thing, that way people would know exactly what it’s for. This (or existing foundations) could be put in the letter so the word could get out about donations for research. There is the capability of reaching so many. There’s a lot of us that aren’t real computer savvy, but know how to send emails and we can do that. I pray constantly for all the children for their healing, pray that a cure will be found soon, and pray for strength for families going through this and for the families who have lost their children to this horrible monster. HEre's another suggestion in preparing for our local Relay for life I have been spending some time on the AMerican Cancer Society's website, www.cancer.org.I noticed on the donation area you have a choice of how you want your donations to be used.No resticiton, cancer research, then specific categories Breast, Prostat, colorectal & lung.Lets start buy calling or e-mailing our local chapters & get Brain added to this list. I e-mailed the Dubuque local chapter I asked them to make Brain Cancer a choice I told them to visit this website & jjs miracle page & meet the kids. Look how far Breast Cancer got when a name, a face Suzanne was attached.
