POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Southern Illinois University Carbondale-College of Business and Administration School of Accountancy – Tenure/Tenure-Track Professor (2) Positions: Two Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professors of Accountancy Qualifications: We are seeking individuals who hold an earned doctorate, or appropriate terminal degree, in accounting or related field at effective date of employment, 8/16/08. Candidates are expected to complete all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of appointment. If all requirements have not been completed, a one-year term appointment at the rank of Instructor and at a lower salary will be offered. Tax and Financial Accounting specialties are desired but quality applicants in other areas of accounting will be considered. Professional certification is preferred. To be considered for Associate Professor, the candidate must have an established research record in high quality publications and teaching excellence. Description of Duties: • Research - Undertake approved scholarly research program publishable in leading journals and acceptable for quality presentations. Work with and mentor doctoral students. • Teaching - Includes undergraduate and/or graduate responsibility in individual's primary and secondary teaching specialties. Current standard load is six hours, with an approved research program. • Service - Participate in service and governance activities as a representative of the School, College, and/or University in professional, community, and university organizations.
