POSITION DESCRIPTION School of Accountancy College of Business and Administration Southern Illinois University Carbondale Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Accountancy Qualifications: An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in accounting or related field is required at effective date of employment. If all requirements are not met at the date of employment, employment will be at the rate of Instructor for one year. Professional certification preferred. Accounting specialty desired is Financial, but quality applicants in other areas of accounting will be considered. The candidate considered for the associate level must have an established record of outstanding research and teaching excellence. Description of Duties: Research: Undertake approved scholarly research program publishable in leading journals and acceptable for quality presentations. Work with and mentor doctoral students. Teaching: Includes undergraduate and/or graduate responsibility in individual's primary and secondary teaching specialties. Current standard load is six hours, with an approved research program. Service: Participate in service and governance activities as a representative of the School, College, and/or University in professional, community, and university organizations. Deadline for Application: September 30, 2006, or until position is filled.
