I am 55 years old with three undergrad majors in Math,Finance and Accounting.I also have a Masters in Economics.I want to apply to the Phd in Finance. But my main concern is how much weight the admissions committes will atach to my age. Personally, I believe I have energy and determination to succeed. I took the GRE three months ago with excellent scores in the 90+ percentile in both Verbal and Quantitative.Do you think I can get the nod from a reputable school inspite of my age? Which schools are more likely to recognize my persistence as a good indicator of merit and potential and therefore give me favorable consideration?

I am not sure they should put much weight on it
because of your age. I have seen some older adults in
doctoral programs. My sister was 26 when she
graduated with a Phd and I did see one or two in her
class that were in their 50's

One of my classmates is studying PhD in operation at her age around 50th. So your consideration should not be a big problem. Good Lucky!
