Brandis, There is a book entitled "How To Prepare A Dissertation Proposal" that I checked out from the library that is pretty good. (Amazon page is: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0815681410). Aside from that, Gordon Davis' book, "Writing the Doctoral Dissertation: A Systematic Approach" is pretty good as well (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0812098005). After that, I have a few examples, mostly qualitative, that I am trying to go by. Donald |

You should find someone who just did a proposal defense at your school(or within your department) and ask them for a copy of their dissertation proposal. |
