Hi Jeff,
Dill lives in Preston but doesn't reply to any invites etc for the Drums reunions. Not got an address anymore. Can try and get one from Brian Page.
No idea about Doll. He was in the band so i will contact Chsir Melia nd see if Doll is still around.

Hi jeff,i am fine mate,i will give you a mention,i have not been to see him yet,my feet have not touched for the past two weeks,i have been that busy, have you still got that bull worker i sold you in chester,if you remember, they sent me two, instead of one,i exspected to be billed later for it,but never was, which left me with a freebie, cheers mate,i have one upstairs, but it is not the same one.I remember a major in the qms department who had one,i believe he had a dodgy arm,and used it to keep it in trim,he took it everywere with him, this was in the 70s early eighties, hopfully someone can put a name to him.Yes john williams was in 9pltn then the mt.ttfn.
GM posted 9/14/08 10:41 AM
Think the major was Kewley from QMs, used to salute with left hand. Was originally from Kings Regt
john hobbin posted 9/14/08 6:29 PM
Sounds about right gm,thanks.ttfn.

Sorry about the delay in replying,
Do you remember the Onion song that Hughie did at Sennelager when we put on the show ? or was it Saltua. Recce was the most fun you could have (with your clothes on )during those days. To name names would be unfair to those I can,t remember but I am sure you could conjure up a few as you sink your next pint.Maybe a reunion of all that served in Recce from 59 to close would create a riot so not such a great idea!!! (from grand auto theft to procurement of stores)would not wear well in this do good society, still it would give the media some great coverage.
And as Tommy Hannah would say "were not scared We.ve got guns bullets too"
Well as always to all.
Stay Safe & Regards,
Eddy & Patti

Hi Eddy,
No problems with delay, i am only here now and again as i work away most of the time. Hope you and the family are well. It would appear we have a mixed thread ongoing created by myself. I do remember Hughie doing the onion song (I can picture him now) wont sleep tonight... They were for me the best days in the Regiment we worked hard and we played hard as i believe it should be. If i had a time machine i would go back to the Minden years 1974/1977 and put another old 5P piece coin in that phonebox outside the guardroom just for old times sake before going into the Grille bar for a few.
Regards
Jeff
Jim Brown posted 10/3/08 4:29 AM
Jeff 100% agree with you on that one, really good times in Zur Grille Bar and down town Minden.Happy times of a past but not forgotten era.On the P-ss aswell as finding times for some soldiering!!

Hello all,Jim and Jeff I wonder what it would be like if those of us who remember Minden and all the places we were together got together and made one last visit to them would it shatter the memories we have of them or bring back stronger feelings.Let me know what you think,Im up for it Ha Ha,take care all so long for now.
Jim Brown posted 10/3/08 6:52 PM
Hi Des it could never be like it was the 2nd time round, and yeh!I suppose it could maybe shadow those happy memories I guess for alot of us back in the Minden days.I'll treasure those memories for as long as I can remember and the pleasure of "drinking and getting p-ssed" not forgetting the soldiering with a great bunch of mates. But the sound of a good p-ss up with the lads whether in Minden or wherever sounds good to me anyway Des.Still can't find my reall cool 70s shades!!

Hi Jim lets not talk about a pixx up lets organise one its about time we all met up again, its nice to see all the younger members of our regiment talking about their memories but ours I think may be a bit better.Well it would be nice to think we could do it before we all fade away maybe one day buddy,I think its your round anyway, take care mate so long for now.

Hy All
As you may all know I have lived and worked in the security industry since I left the Regiment in too many places I care too (or can ) remember and yes we are all getting on a bit. once when I was the escort now I need an escort, but no matter where I go the alertness and memories come flowing back and I have to keep my mouth shut as I hear these guys tell me how good they are,and in truth yes they are but they are young as we once where but always on that great learning curve we call life.
A Minden reuion would be great but having been there a number of years ago it is a changed place,so maybe the Rememberence Day which Tony and the South of England Branch organise could be a weekend stint and not just the day.Hope I have not offened anyone.
Stay Safe & Regards to all as alway.
Eddy & Patti
Tony posted 10/12/08 8:46 AM
Thank you for that, Eddy.
I'm always impressed by the way that those that come along for the first time, more often than not want to come along again. All are welcome. Mike Morgan has received thirty tickets for this year's parade.
