My grandmother's name was Olena Helland. I don't know anything else except that she came from Bergen, Norway. If anyone knows anything about her, I would love to know more. |

Bergen is not in Valdres-it is in Hordaland Fylke (formerly called Sondre Bergenhus Amt). In 1801 there were no farms named Helland in Oppland fylke, where Valdres is located, but there were 29 farms named Helland in Norway-9 of them were in Sondre Bergenhus. |
